Apprenticeship Community Hosts First Apprenticeship Day at The Capitol
On March 6, 2003, FAEC participated in the First Apprenticeship Day at The Capitol in
Tallahassee. Thirty sponsors of registered construction apprenticeship programs had displays in the Capitol Plaza and the first and second rotundas of The Capitol. Governor Bush proclaimed March 6th as Apprenticeship Day in Florida and both the House of Representatives and the Senate issued resolutions honoring apprenticeship.

The purpose of the event was to educate the legislators about the importance of apprenticeship
training. The sponsors hosted a lunch for legislators and staff and served over 250 people. The
participants agreed that the event was a huge success and plans are underway for the Second
      Apprenticeship Day in 2004.
