Ensuring the Integrity of the Electrical Industry

The Florida Association of Electrical Contractors is the voice of the electrical industry in Florida.
Made up of Electrical Contractors and Industry Allies, FAEC represents the needs and concerns
of the electrical contractor, not only as they relate to the trade, but as a businessperson.

FAEC ... an organization United and Dedicated to building the future of the Electrical Industry!

"The first requisite for success is to develop the ability to focus and apply your mental and physical energies to the problem at hand - without growing weary. Because such thinking is often difficult, there seems to be no limit to which some people will go to avoid the effort and labor that is associated with it."

~ Thomas A. Edison

FAEC Honors Stephen Pirolli with 2016 Edison Award

Stephen Pirolli started his electrical career in 1975 when he attended dual enrollment electrical classes in high school and began working as an electrical helper in 1978.  He furthered his education by attending the electrical apprenticeship program from 1982 to 1986, where he graduated as the top student for the class of 1986.

After graduation he continued in the electrical industry by working as a Journeyman Electrician, Electrical Estimator and Assistant Service Manager for a local electrical company.

In 1990 he started his teaching career in the Florida Electrical Apprenticeship & Training program -FEAT, where he presently still teaches two nights a week.

During the 1994-95 school year, he heard that there was going to be an opening for a full time electrical instructor at the Orange Technical College-Mid Florida Campus.  He applied and was hired as the electric shop teacher where he continued teaching full time until another opportunity opened up in 2002. At that time he switched gears and started at FEAT full time as an electrical apprenticeship coordinator.  He worked in that capacity until this past June when the training director’s job opened up at FEAT.  He started as the training director this year on July 1st.

Since 1995, Steve has also taught the Electrician Journeyman Prep classes on Saturdays throughout our community.  In order to teach these classes, Steve has taken the Journeyman Electrician Exam four times so that he knows what to teach in the classroom.  His lowest grade was a 91, and his highest, a 96. Steve has his electrical masters license and full time electrical teaching certificate which has given him the ability to teach over 150 electrical classes throughout his career where he has touched thousands of student’s lives.

During his career he has volunteered at Habitat for Humanities houses and has given electrical code seminars for several electrical industry groups.  He also was the treasurer of one of our local electrical industry groups for 6 ½ years.
In his past time, he enjoys boating and scalloping in the Gulf of Mexico and relaxing at Homosassa Springs.
